a long winded debate i had with my friend recently who claimed that i was addicted to weed left me in fits of mirth.maybe it was my demeanor that i exhibited while taking a fag or watever it was.jokes aside, it really is surprising that its so easy fr the media to instill such a grave misconception in our minds about marijuana. the 30 million dollar anti-marijuana campaign led by the federal govt. in 1930 has taken its roots not only in the U.S but all over the world.the question is, why would the govt. spend so much time, energy and resources to eradicate something that is, mind you, helpful in everyway. how? i will touch that later.
the answer stands right in front of us.when they legalized alcohol, the new industries needed popularity and advertisement and for that they had to wipe out their only cut throat competitor, marijuana.also, since the govt. could not tax marijuana they benefited more from these alcohol and tobacco industries.hence the need to wipe out pot usage. thanks to them, marijuana is now an official taboo. :-) also, HEMP which is another type of a marijuana plant was used to make clothes, houses, paper, food, fuel effectively. the fuel derived from hemp seeds was better than gasoline.so how would the oil companies flourish?
medicinal marijuana has been prescribed by doctors for centuries fr curing multiple sclerosis, nausea, depression, anxiety and also cancer. when i give this a thought it definetely seems very wierd to me that tobacco and alcohol is legalized while marijuana is refused to even b considered.
if u analyze the facts, alcohol is the root cause of domestic violence and millions of deaths every year.and tobacco kills 15000 everyday globally and nicotine in cigarettes is the third most addictive substance.contrary to the effects of alcohol and tobacco, marijuana can be habituating but not addictive.mind u, loads of difference bet. the two.
but certainly i, like many others keep guessing the ulterior motive of making marijuana illegal.why would the government waste so much resource in creating a misleading image of cannabis? beats me.
LOL sorry fr being such a bore, will attempt choosing a better topic next time. its just that, these facts have been nagging me fr quite sometime now. feels good to let it all out. later! :-)
