Chennai has been the worst experience for me ever.from the moment i stepped onto this side of the world, that big transparent bubble popped into my mind ---you know? like the kind you see in cartoons? --- that said, 'Oh, this is SO not me'. the phrase, 'shattered hopes' to describe the way i felt would be an epitome of disappointment. and THAT was just the beginning, the best was yet to come.
Seniors, we were supposed to show reverential respect towards. 'kiss my ass' was the only word that came into my mind whenever i saw those sadasses parading about condescendingly instructing first year students into doing their bidding. after a few sessions of abusive verbal exchange, they let me be but never ceased to have that incessant itch in their asses whenever they see that insouciant smirk on my face.
then, there's this thing about this place, i think thats what sets this city apart from any other. The word 'fashion' is unheard and untold of. its like when the fashion epidemic sweeped the world, chennai had some vaccine developed to keep itself immuned.Fashion here is lipstick and jeans. i was an alien to this part, unacceptable and overdressed. i found people wierd, language obnoxious, the clothes gross and style? lets not even go there. whats more? they even smelled differently --the kind i never came across and hopefully never will --- they dint smell dirty but only of 'sweet smelling' jasmine flowers and oil which, when combined emit a stale odor that im allergic to.
To cut the long story short, it was all a zor-ka-jhatka wala experience for me.
