The ghost of the past

This is something i had written a while back, when i couldnt grip the reigns of my imaginary horses tight enough, and they flew thats when i realized how seductive tinkering is.

The ghost of the past

Love lay buried, deep down as remnants unvisited and forgotten
The fire long extinguished and out cold
The piercing screams of a spectre once dwelled so bold
Reverbratee amidst the vacant halls, the echoes still heard, and the story untold
What's the point of love, she moans
The sight of those sunken hollow pools and a heart turned stone
I say, reminisce, those endless nights of fervour
Whence thou danced at every touch with exquisite tremour
Like a maiden, just touched and deflowered
Drunk in the desperate ecstasy, u glowered
The metaphysical feeling unjudged and unquantified
The glow in ur heart that could light up the nighy sky
Embrace it then, and let it not terrify
And once again she came alive
The pink of her cheeks made alight
For it was a man who touched her heart
Over the moon and in the waters stark
She felt the reigns grip her stronger
For by the corner stood the man that made her a spectre no longer
And they sang, into the night, on the beats of the drum, their supposed conundrum
Far away, in a distant land, the two sat unplanned
The crick of the cricket and the silence of the wicked was all their song could break
Their eyes met, in a discern unsaid
She took with a daze, his handsome face
A thought struck her stray, she quickly looked away for she knew they had seperate ways
Many days from then, in a twist of fate again, in his arms she found her man
His eyes as blue and deep as the seas
Turning the colossal ruins of her heart to dust in breach
His irridescent face, luminous in the bare dim light
A captivating mirage, she feared may flight
No longer did she pity her plight
His glory made her world alight
She lived alone
In a bubble weaved by her own
His portrait she did paint
On the walls of her dreams faint
But collapse it would, under the bright moon
Like the liquifaction of a desert dune
She loved, she loved hence it was tough
To live with the fact that. it was not enough.

The story of the grey Lady in Bargam.

'Afia siddiqui', a name not familiar to many of you. When i had first heard about her, the news had shook me. Shook me because she was guilty, guilty of being a muslim in a first world country.
Post 9/11 has been a horrifying ordeal for the devout muslims residing in the U.S territory.each living in fear when they and their families would be pulled out and accused. Afia siddiqui was one such victim of the U.S persecution. She is the most aggrieved ravaged victims of the post 9/11 'war on terror'.

Let me first create a subtle image of afia.this woman was a 110pound frail woman  with degrees from MIT and a doctorate in neurocognitive science from Brandeis.Afia was passionate about islam and distributed qurans at MIT.
The times calles her the 'al-Qaida' woman, she is accused of smuggling of diamonds for Al-Qaida.

Boston Magazine's Katherine Oxment asked: "Who's afraid of Aafia Siddiqui? She went to MIT and Brandeis, married a (physician, lived in Boston), cared for her children....raised money for charities....did other volunteer work, hosted play groups in her apartment, (is) deeply religious....distribute(d) Korans to inmates in area prisons," and did nothing out of the ordinary. (She) "was a normal woman living a normal American life. Until the FBI called her a terrorist....a high-profile Al Qaeda operative," but we've seen these charges before, and each time they were bogus. They're egregiously so against Aafia - a woman guilty only of being Muslim at the wrong time in America or elsewhere if you're on Washington's target list.

Afia was being kept in secret custody by the U.S military.when the pakistani embassy requested for afia to be repatriated, the FBI denied the arrest and said that the unnamed female prisoner was somebody else.

THE U.S BAGRAM, AFGHANISTAN TORTURE PRISON
Afia disappeared into Bagram hell after her abduction where she was called the 'GREY LADY' because of her heart wrenching screams. Aafia was repeatedly raped and tortured. Her screams reverberated the walls of the prison day and night. She was physically and mentally tortured to such an extent that the prisoners went on a hunger strike.
Prisoners in Bagram are held in wire cages, given buckets for latrine and tortured and subjected to indignities.

In February 2005, The London Guardian reported that a prisoner named Mustafa was blindfolded, handcuffed, gagged, and forced to bend down over a table by three US soldiers. They then "forcibly rammed a stick up my rectum....I could not stop screaming when this happened."
Another case involved Wesam Abdulrahman Ahmed Al Deemawi. For over a 40 days, he was threatened with dogs, stripped and photographed "in shameful and obscene positions," placed in a cage with a hook and hanging rope, and hung on it blindfolded for two days. Both men were never charged and were later released.
Other prisoners were beaten, chained, hung from the ceiling by their wrists, and subjected to numerous other tortures and indignities - for months or years. In some cases so horrifically died.

Today, Afia continues to be a ghost, a spectre whose screams haunt those who heard her. The image of that frail looking woman has turned out to be deplorable.uprooted teeth, broken badly fixed nose, sunken eyes, have one kidney removed and her torso stitched up negligently and Her condition is horrific.she is not mentally stable to stand trial

The U.S and the international law unequivocally states the prisoner detention and their treatment but the rule under Bush defiles it and Obama has turned a blind eye to the malpractices. Secret detention is strictly prohibited and also the humane treatment of the prisoners Is clearly stated in the law. But eh, who cares. The U.S is the hero and the east can be squashed like a cockroach under its mighty feet.

We the people are nothing. Nothing but mere spectators to the torture and obcenities that the mighty subject us to. We are the audience, they control the show. By some unfortuitous time, we just might become their pawn. We are lucky to sleep on our beds, they were merely unlucky to have been chosen.
Sweet dreams.

If only we could realize what Allah has offered us.

"oh goddd sanaa, i really am getting irritated with her", and the next moment you turn, u see the person hi fyying, laughing, being bff's with the very same person they backbited. they plot and plan against the person they spend almost all their time with. however can you expect such people to be loyal to anyone? wallahi i had never known or experience the wisdom behind why backbiting was such a major sin and how much it harms the society as a whole. the qualities exhibited by the people disgusted me.i was just fed up.i dint know if that girl i spoke to and whose claims to like me werent merely pretenses or if she went up telling people how she dosent wanna be with me and hates me.
Backbiting and slander are such, that people are degraded to a level worse than an animal. they are an epitome of evil and selfish behaviour. atleast a dog is loyal to you and you know it isnt pretending. but hey, simple thing woman, why be with the person you call bi*** all the time? or why even talk to the person you cant stand? there are things in other religions that teach good and forbid evil. abstain people from harming others. but in no religion are the teachings so diverse as in islam. in no religion a person is compelled to follow it by his own true will.except islam. how beautiful and precise are its teaching. not only does it say to backbite and slander are evil but also expresses the degree of evil that it is. it compares it to eating one's own dead brother's flesh. how heineous and truely horrendous that thought seems! but even in the month of RAMADAAN WE DO IT!! and ALLAhuakbar! he still showers his mercy infinitely. when are we truely going to feel and rectify our mistakes? Ramadan is fr worshipping our creator ALLAH SWT. Who has created everything perfectly. Millions of galaxies with billions of stars. Stars of unfathomable radius. He is ALLAH, truely the one and only, the greatest. He shouts out to us, he is always eager to forgive us, always next to us.if only, if only we could turn to our creator and cry because the greatest mercy that he has showered upon us is that he has given us islam on a platter. and SUBHANALLAH we are like sheep, deaf, dumb blind and oblivous to everything around us.

Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 18:
صُمٌّ بُكْمٌ عُمْيٌ فَهُمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ

Deaf, dumb, and blind, they will not return (to the path).

brothers and sisters, please let us not be among those people Allah SWT has mentioned here and sincerely repent and cry in dua'as and let those warm tears run down your cheeks for the love and fear of ALLAH SWT.

open your eyes,where are you?

i am not a frequent blogger, infact i dont even know if i can write and i often underestimate myself. but this particular time, scrolling through the various comments on youtube,i was left apprehensive.it were these unnerving and vile comments about saudi arabia that i found blasphemous and totally off the record.i was disturbed because none of it was correct.this is my attempt to bring forth the caveat supporting my statements. these were some of the comments that had me wondering as to what exactly the media is trying to portray out in the west?
if someone invade saudi-arabia i will be on his side saudiarabia is a tyranny, which terrorize its own people'
Unbelieveble that such countries exist in 21-st century.Very barbarian and crazy:('
  • 'look at that woman can you see her? no because she is covered with a sheet while it is 40 degrees outside'
'embrace no religion, look out for family and family alone, lie, steal and cheat your way to the top.i did and it feels good!'
but before i sketch the drawbacks of saudi, i would like to say that every country has flaws, no one is perfect. the indian laws are flouted with impunity, the criminals roam free on bail or LOL theyre never arrested. rapes are happening as i type, the interest laden bank policies have heightened the gap between the rich and the poor, the corrupt politicians squander all the tax money and they do NOTHING for the country,oh and the freedom of speech that the democratic countries boast about? a girl had been arrested because she posted something abt thackerey and the list goes on. in contrast, i had written in negative about the saudi system two years ago and it was published in the gazette, who says they have sealed your mouth? i spoke against them, i was never arrested or tortured.although saudi arabia is not a democratic country, its tax free, the development level is four fold the development in india, unemployment rate is minimal, and as far as the rights for women goes,i live in that country, women are the most protected and the most respected. the west, which boats of freedom for women, women are actually being manipulated.they work, look after the kids, cook and then work. now isnt this injustice? where is the equality fr which u scream bloody murder? an advertisement for a car flaunts a woman who is half naked in a provocative stance,y dont men stand in underwears and pose instead? have u seen that? NO.

Are you a woman? Its a patriarchal society. You cant do much of anything if your a woman without the permission of the man who owns you at that particular time. it could be your father and brothers and Uncles, and then finally you are sold to your husband. If you dont wear it you could be arrested. You can lie all you want. But thats the fact.

this is one of the many comments i found on it,wait, what?!! OWN? lol it seems my father owned me before i was SOLD to my husband.where do they get this from? LOL. hes saying if i dont wear a face cover i will be arrested.i never wore it,sure i was behind bars most of the time. :D
islam understands the basic nature of man.can u deny women are ten fold more attractive than men? can u deny that women are physically weaker than men? they say,'instead of telling ur daughters not to step out at night, tell ur sons not to rape' ok,firstly, when the mothers are working the whole day, who is taking care of the children? they are learning their values from outside, morals that are degraded to the very core, how are you teaching your sons'NOT TO RAPE'? lol if u can even teach that. oh,maybe just conduct a drill once a week teaching your children what you missed out during the week. sarcasm aside, secondly,'its easier to guard and protect your daughter because even if you might be instilling values in your sons, there still are neglected men out there who are animals,or worse. just what saudi does,at night if your roaming alone, the police is bound to come and ask you, not because they want to arrest u because they want to keep the society safe!yes, theres punishment for adultery, but only if there are four sound witnesses to it,i dont find that out of line because we if adultery and rape is taken lightly it will shake the core morals of our society which are very firm and im proud that my country still eschews these vices and our morality is still preserved.
look if you hate us, ur welcome. we hate evil and feel that screwing hoes, prostitution, rape, adultery, alcohol and AIDS is not cool. and we will always be strict about it. you dont like it, u dont live it. simple. stop imposing evil on us. WE DONT WANT IT. we are happy as can be and i love the peace it brings us. there are so many other things to say but i guess it will be all. phew! there, i let half of it out.

out to all women in the world....being allowed to be a hoe, stripper, cheat on your spouse, screw every man you meet....that is not liberation....wake up.......oh and being able to show your body off to strangers is not liberation......its enslavement

why would they do this?

a long winded debate i had with my friend recently who claimed that i was addicted to weed left me in fits of mirth.maybe it was my demeanor that i exhibited while taking a fag or watever it was.jokes aside, it really is surprising that its so easy fr the media to instill such a grave misconception in our minds about marijuana. the 30 million dollar anti-marijuana campaign led by the federal govt. in 1930 has taken its roots not only in the U.S but all over the world.the question is, why would the govt. spend so much time, energy and resources to eradicate something that is, mind you, helpful in everyway. how? i will touch that later.
the answer stands right in front of us.when they legalized alcohol, the new industries needed popularity and advertisement and for that they had to wipe out their only cut throat competitor, marijuana.also, since the govt. could not tax marijuana they benefited more from these alcohol and tobacco industries.hence the need to wipe out pot usage. thanks to them, marijuana is now an official taboo. :-) also, HEMP which is another type of a marijuana plant was used to make clothes, houses, paper, food, fuel effectively. the fuel derived from hemp seeds was better than gasoline.so how would the oil companies flourish?
medicinal marijuana has been prescribed by doctors for centuries fr curing multiple sclerosis, nausea, depression, anxiety and also cancer. when i give this a thought it definetely seems very wierd to me that tobacco and alcohol is legalized while marijuana is refused to even b considered.
if u analyze the facts, alcohol is the root cause of domestic violence and millions of deaths every year.and tobacco kills 15000 everyday globally and nicotine in cigarettes is the third most addictive substance.contrary to the effects of alcohol and tobacco, marijuana can be habituating but not addictive.mind u, loads of difference bet. the two.

but certainly i, like many others keep guessing the ulterior motive of making marijuana illegal.why would the government waste so much resource in creating a misleading image of cannabis? beats me.

LOL sorry fr being such a bore, will attempt choosing a better topic next time. its just that, these facts have been nagging me fr quite sometime now. feels good to let it all out. later! :-)

Zor ka Jhatka

Chennai has been the worst experience for me ever.from the moment i stepped onto this side of the world, that big transparent bubble popped into my mind ---you know? like the kind you see in cartoons? --- that said, 'Oh, this is SO not me'. the phrase, 'shattered hopes'  to describe the way i felt would be an epitome of disappointment. and THAT was just the beginning, the best was yet to come.
Seniors, we were supposed to show reverential respect towards. 'kiss my ass' was the only word that came into my mind whenever i saw those sadasses parading about condescendingly instructing first year students into doing their bidding. after a few sessions of abusive verbal exchange, they let me be but never ceased to have that incessant itch in their asses whenever they see that insouciant smirk on my face.
then, there's this thing about this place, i think thats what sets this city apart from any other. The word 'fashion' is unheard and untold of. its like when the fashion epidemic sweeped the world, chennai had some vaccine developed to keep itself immuned.Fashion here is lipstick and jeans. i was an alien to this part, unacceptable and overdressed. i found people wierd, language obnoxious, the clothes gross and style? lets not even go there. whats more? they even smelled differently --the kind i never came across and hopefully never will --- they dint smell dirty but only of 'sweet smelling' jasmine flowers and oil which, when combined emit a stale odor that im allergic to.
To cut the long story short, it was all a zor-ka-jhatka wala experience for me.
